Being ornery and independent, I'd imagine it's worse than herding cats, though maybe the peg legs make them easier to control.<br /><br />The pirate who set the standard for me was the gravelly voiced Robert Newton in the television series "The Adventures of Long John Silver," first broadcast in the mid-fifties. I don't remember much about the series itself, although I don't imagine there was much raping and pillaging going on since I remember watching it after school.<br /><br />I didn't know it at the time but Newton had already died of a heart attack before the series was shown in Canada.
