Maybe, as you said, it's because i come from an earlier generation?
I really can't imagine John Lennon ever advertising cars in this manner. So, i feel his memory & seling power is being exploited a little here.Andy Guntonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00402607157584209849noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3604147601973013359.post-18268762560633718302010-03-06T16:02:14.445+00:002010-03-06T16:02:14.445+00:00I think what would have been far more offensive wo...I think what would have been far more offensive would be to use John's image and dub in, "I'm John Lennon, and if I were alive, I'd be driving a Citroen!"

Instead, we have a great quote, unaltered. AND there's the "Imagine Peace" message shown on the screen for several seconds. Taking advantage of the media's interest in his life to advertise for peace was something John and Yoko worked on together.

That this is also a product ad, and not just a peace ad is different, and a new direction, and somewhat unorthodox to us older sorts. But if Yoko can use things like this to further John's goal of "imagining peace" then why not?

It's an important message, and worth spreading.Ken Goldsteinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14352088132228110064noreply@blogger.com
